Healing Modalities
“Civilize the mind and make savage the body.” –ANCIENT CHINESE PROVERB
DISCOVER HEALING MODALITIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Phil has traveled the globe and learned many different, highly impactful methods in order to help heal himself and others. This program utilizes proven, direct techniques and is the “greatest hits” of what he has studied, practiced, and teaches.
These modalities harmonize seamlessly, catering to individuals across various age groups and skill levels. They converge to create a comprehensive, solution-oriented system that assembles many pieces of the health puzzle. Through collaborative efforts with Phil, you'll discover a personalized formula tailored to meet your unique needs.
Please note that these practices are divided into Mind, Body, and Spirit, for the ease of categorization only. Always remember that you are a cohesive, unified system, not a series of parts. When you are able to positively affect yourself through a physical or “Body” practice such as the Somatic Mobility program, this has positive ripple effects for your mind and spirit as well. Conversely, anything that can alleviate mental or emotional stress will have an enhancing effect on your body. Everything is connected to everything, it’s all reciprocal.
These practices greatly assist in managing stress and anxiety, as well as changing our mindset regarding what is possible. Together, we will discover the specific practice or blend of practices that resonates with you for lasting peace and clarity.
There are many wide-ranging benefits with these practices, including: lowered physical and mental stress and increased ability to relax, lowered blood pressure and heart rate, decreased systemic inflammation, and improved sleep. Jump off the hamster wheel of the runaway thinking mind and connect to your true, deeper self with these practices.
At the heart of the In Through the Body approach lies the recognition that our daily actions form the bedrock of our identity and capacity for evolution. This is where the integrative approach begins, where the rubber meets the road…

ACHIEVE A MORE PROFOUND CONNECTION FOR A MORE HARMONIZED SELF
Adapted from an Ancient Himalayan Healing Art, this mobility program is the cornerstone of the physical practices that Phil teaches and has brought radical change for many people’s quality of life.
Drastically reduce chronic pain, systemic tension, tightness and stress. Transform your posture, strength, flexibility, and range of motion. Alter sub-optimal, compensatory, habitual movement patterns. Improve sleep quality, decrease chance of injury, and boost performance in all sports and physical activities.
Phil learned this incredible mobility program first as a patient at a distinguished musculoskeletal clinic in the Indian Himalayas. The primary practitioner is a musculoskeletal doctor and martial arts master that comes from a region near Tibet where their people have been known throughout the centuries as great warriors and great healers. After falling in love with the practice and receiving its life-changing benefits, he eventually trained to become one of the first westerners to learn their method, and is now one of only a few in the world outside of India to teach it.
This program improves overall body alignment, stretching and strengthening the deepest muscle groups. It activates the lymphatic system, and optimizes breathing patterns in order to reprogram the nervous system. It uniquely focuses on building stronger, more adaptive joints, total body symmetry, and structural integrity. It goes beyond typical fitness programs, emphasizing mindful movement to forge a profound connection between your mind and body. It will cultivate newfound coordination, confidence, and body awareness for a deeper felt understanding of the body as the cohesive unit that it is.

DISCOVER THE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT OF MAINTAINING A HEALTHY FASCIA SYSTEM
A compromised fascia system can give rise to a range of issues, from persistent tightness, soreness, and chronic pain, emotional stress and anxiety, to limitations in range of motion and suboptimal movement patterns. The repercussions extend to systemic inflammation and its associated problems, which can contribute to general fatigue and stress. Elevate your well-being by prioritizing the health of your fascia by addressing these issues at their core. Focused and proven release techniques will be utilized to return the myofascial system to health and balance.
The Myofascial system is a vital component of our musculoskeletal system. It’s a web of connective tissue that connects and holds our entire body together, acting almost like a wetsuit. It also surrounds and attaches to all structures and plays a crucial role in movement and overall functioning. The internal fascia network is also one of our richest sensory organs. It’s partially responsible for communication between all tissues, including our muscles.
Often we mistake muscle soreness or other issues for compromised fascia. Standard tests, including X-rays and MRI’s, often miss myofascial restrictions, leaving many in pain or with limited mobility undiagnosed. Understanding fascia has led to a shift in treating pain and mobility issues.
The benefits of myofascial release include improved range of motion throughout the entire body, decreased chronic pain, soreness and tightness, improved body alignment, decreased stress, increased blood flow, enhanced lymphatic drainage and detoxification, decreased systemic inflammation-the list goes on and on.
Once simple myofascial release techniques are learned, they can be self-administered and assist in drastically reducing pain and systemic tension for the rest of your life.

INCORPORATE THIS MIND-BODY PRACTICE FOR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL LIBERATION
Stress, and anxiety are both psychological and physical. This transformative practice can deliver accelerated relief from physical and emotional tension.
The psoas is a muscle in our midsection that is the muscular connector between the upper and lower body, a major component of our often-tight hip flexor complex, and an integral part of our deep inner core muscles.
A compromised, tight psoas can cause significant physical and emotional issues. Decreased range of motion throughout the entire body, lower back pain, poor posture, tight hips and pelvis, difficulty sleeping (waking up in the fetal position is a red flag for this), and seemingly tight hamstrings are just a few of the physical manifestations of a tight psoas. In addition, because the psoas is connected to our central nervous system via our spine, it also becomes a storage space for stress, anxiety, negative emotions and fear. A tight, contracted psoas is a common issue, especially for people that sit for long periods of time, or for many athletes.
The Psoas Release releases deep muscular tension and calms down the nervous system as the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance A released and properly functioning psoas can relieve back, hip or pelvic pain or tightness, and improve posture. It will assist the body to sit, walk, burn fat, get a good night’s sleep, and generally move without constriction. And because it can also alleviate emotional stress and systemic tension, it facilitates an increased dominance of the Parasympathetic Nervous System, which unless we are experiencing an actual emergency, is our natural “rest, digest, and relax” state of being.
The Psoas Release is a simple and highly effective self-care practice for life-long wellbeing and will be taught and woven into your tailored program, as needed.

Proper lymphatic function is crucial to overall health, the body’s ability to heal and recover, and proper immune system function.
With the DIY Lymphatic Drainage Program, you can experience a holistic transformation as lymphatic support works its wonders. Alleviate fatigue and amplify vitality, fostering equilibrium in your gut and digestive system by easing constipation and bloating. Help your liver, kidneys and other organs function properly. “You are not your thoughts.” –Anonymous
The art of meditation is simply a way of getting in touch with reality. A regular meditation practice can be a key to true presence, the here and now. You can use meditation to train your attention and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. By practicing regularly, you will become much better at observing your thoughts instead of being fused with them. You can watch the never ending movie instead of becoming the main character. The storm may still be raging, but by practicing meditation you can exercise the choice to step inside your home and watch it from a warm, cozy place instead of being at the mercy of the elements outside, as you’re lashed, whipped around by the winds and drenched. The choice is yours!
Meditation may be used in the reduction of stress, anxiety, pain, depression, and to increase inner-peace, well-being and serenity. However, meditation is not something you just do for a 20 minute session in the morning. Being in a meditative state is how you are originally designed to move through life! It is not a separate “practice” to do. Meditation is awareness, feeling and a state of being, and as you are a Human Being - it’s merely a return to your natural state. This is the “gift” of meditation - to infuse this state of awareness into your everyday life.

“The mind is the king of the senses and the breath is the king of the mind.” –Yoga Guru BKS Iyengar
The ancient scholars knew the importance of the breath in cultivating the human spirit, as the word spirit is derived from the Latin spiritus, meaning breath. The breath is your most vital connection to, well, everything.
Breathe is the simplest, most available anchor to the present moment. The vast majority of us are stuck in the deep woods of the Sympathetic nervous system, or “emergency mode”, a dead-end of never-ending physical and emotional stress.
Transformation can begin almost immediately, with many wide-ranging benefits, including: lowered physical and mental stress, increased ability to relax, lowered blood pressure and heart rate, decreased systemic inflammation, improved circulation, increased detoxification through a properly functioning lymphatic system, and improved digestion. For those that find traditional meditation techniques difficult or overwhelming, simple breathwork is also a great way to enter a meditative state.
Still, the most important benefit of a continued daily breathing practice is an invigorated human spirit(!), through a re-established connection to the here and now, pure presence-a true shift in consciousness.
Many different Breathwork practices are available-we will find one that suits your specific needs.

“We cannot create a new future by holding on to the emotions of the past.” –Dr. Joe Dispenza
Visualization practices are an extremely powerful tool for reprogramming your mind, influencing neurobiology, and contributing to personal growth and healing. You can actively participate in your own evolution through intentional visualization and positive emotional engagement. Visualization is a way to actively engage in reshaping your neural pathways and creating new patterns of thinking and behavior.
Visualization can also be a tool for changing limiting beliefs and perceptions. By consistently visualizing a desired reality, you can shift your mindset and break free from old, ingrained thought patterns, create a stronger impact on your overall well-being, and greatly influence the direction of your life.

INSIGHT BODYWORK & INSIGHT JOURNEYWORK
“Until we make the unconscious conscious, it will direct our lives and we will call it fate.” –CARL JUNG
Available as part of a bespoke program or as a standalone healing modality, Insight BodyWork (in-person) or Insight JourneyWork (online) are very special methods that can completely alter your inner landscape, and therefore your life. You will integrate and release deep-rooted fears and emotional charge, subconscious false, non-serving beliefs and the associated physical tension, and sub-optimal behavior patterns that often accompany these issues. You will experience freedom in your mind, body and spirit. This is “root-cause” healing. Phil searched many years for a practice like this and has been an absolute game-changer for him on a personal level. Now that he has found it, he is extremely passionate about sharing it.
Your sense of wellbeing is primarily affected by feelings, which arise from your thoughts. Feelings are designed to be fully embraced and felt when they naturally arise. Much of the time, however, feelings are suppressed and become stored emotional charge. This charge commonly becomes body tension through contraction of tissues including muscles and fascia, as well as organs.
Throughout the course of a person’s life, suppressed emotional charge accumulates and builds up in intensity. This can lead to stress, depression, pain and even chronic illness when organs such as the heart and bowels, which are controlled by the autonomic nerves, are disturbed.
A chronic situation of stored tension is often supported by ‘patterns’ within the psyche. Patterns are usually driven by non-serving beliefs, beliefs such as “I’m not good enough”, “There’s something wrong with me”, or “I’m not safe.” These non-serving beliefs create never-ending negative thoughts, which lead to uncomfortable feelings. The uncomfortable feelings create more bodily tension, as well as suboptimal behavior patterns. A perpetual cycle is created.
Insight Bodywork is a way to break this vicious cycle by creating a safe space where the individual can explore feelings that are most often held in the unconscious field.
As feelings come up and begin to move, an inquiry begins as to what other feelings, or even memories from difficult experiences, might be inside. The specific impact of IB is the resolution and integration of emotional charge, thought re-patterning, and finally reducing the associated bodily constrictions fully associated with negative thought patterns. This is “root-cause” healing. The positive ripple effect of getting in touch with and processing these non-serving beliefs and associated emotional charge is nothing short of life-changing, especially since so many of these issues exist in the subconscious, out of sight but still so often running the show…
