Since working with Phil I have increased my body awareness, improved my posture, and my back doesn’t hurt anymore. With the fascia release practice I’m able to work out any stiffness and speed up my recovery after a workout.
I feel more confident in the gym that I won’t hurt myself again and I don’t worry about my back when lifting my son. Working with Phil has shattered my subconscious belief that it’s inevitable to become less mobile the older I get.
In the past I’ve done lots of static stretching that would make me a little bit more flexible but after a short while progress stagnated which hurt my motivation and ultimately led to me quitting that practice. Phil’s program is something else. After every session I can feel my muscles having been worked and over time my flexibility and strength has greatly increased. Now, my stretches go much deeper than when I first started working with Phil and my deep core is much stronger. Most exercises are simple so I can do them on my own after a couple times. Simple doesn’t mean easy though, as these exercises really put me to work.
Working with Phil is a delight. He is the most knowledgeable person that I know when it comes to mobility and body awareness. He has endless enthusiasm and loves to geek out on all the different aspects of the training we do. Even after working with him for almost 5 months Phil is still stoked for every training.

I lived in Singapore and was seeing a physiotherapist and an osteopath for 4-5 years but it provided just temporary relief. I walked with a limp and couldn’t sleep properly. “I met Phil through a recommendation from a friend. Oddly it was an Instagram post that a friend was back in town and if you were suffering from pain or had body issues he was the guy, hit him up.
I never respond to things like this. Never. But for some reason this spoke to me. I had been suffering with a nerve issue in my left arm that left my hand numb. I had been to Chiros, regular Dr’s and a neurologist. In addition to this issue I have had neck issues for 30 years at various levels of pain and had just given it to this being part of life. I have had years of rehab, pills and chiropractic adjustments, all of which had some benefits, but nothing "fixed" the problem.
I met with Phil and was immediately intrigued by his explanation of what he does and how he thought he could help. The combination of breathing techniques and precise postures and movements sounded interesting, but I wasn't sold that this would do much for me. It sounded a lot like some type of "new rehab" technique. Most of the moves are very simple, but the precision was really the key. After the first month of working out with Phil my nerve problem had started to resolve itself and I started feeling better. I also noticed that other things were happening within my body. As time moved on, my arm, shoulder, and neck were cured. Not short term fixed, but cured. Longtime back problems I had were resolved, my range of motion got better everywhere, my sleep improved and I feel fantastic. I really can't get over the fact that I feel amazing, both mentally and physically.
In addition to the physical gains I received from working out with Phil I also noticed the overall connection between my mind and body improving. This is hard to explain, but without trying I was intuitively getting information from my body and understanding more of what I needed to do. Things just made sense without me thinking about it. “Working with Phil is more than just working with a trainer or a physical therapist, he helps the body realign, connect to your nervous system, and safely rediscover muscles that have been asleep for years. I have been working with Phil for six months and I am an inch taller due to improved posture. Each session builds on to the next while rebuilding and strengthening the core and the surrounding muscles. My right rotator cuff was torn six years ago, I had only partial movement, and never realized how I never rebuilt that area. After several months I now have freedom in my neck and I can lift objects without my arm dropping due to lack of strength. I have spent years going to the chiropractor due to my posture and neck pain, but I only received short term relief which brought me back to the same place I started. I was given stretches and exercises to help open my chest, but I kept injuring myself. Phil helped me build the muscles in my back that help with pulling back my shoulders while keeping my shoulders down instead of “wearing them like earrings”. I broke my left femur 20 years ago and my hips have always been locked up and I have been favoring my right side which ended up with pain in my piriformis. Learning how to sit up on my sitting bones while being able to hold my posture has freed up space that has allowed so much more movement in my hips and completely taken away any back pain that I used to have. I used to take yoga classes and after learning proper alignment I do not look at yoga the same anymore. This method helps you realize it is not how far you can bend or who can put their leg in some crazy position, it is about proper alignment while listening to your body. I used to do warrior one, two or three and every time I bent my leg I was using the wrong muscle which put so much pressure on my knees-now I can feel and know which muscle to use while protecting my knee. Phil has also taught me how our nerves are connected and how each position/ movement helps your nervous system. I am amazed at the transformation I have gone through so many positive changes over the past six months and will continue working with Phil.
